when to start my birth control

I just got my birthday control today and I was wondering am I able to start it on the 14th? The first day of my last period was April 24th. This is my first time starting birth control any advice would be appreciated. My period app says my period should start on the 24th of may.

Youll want to start either the first day of your period or the first Sunday following the start of your period. If you start randomly in the middle of your cycle it will take longer for your cycle to get on schedule. If you take it when suggested your period will stay relatively on the same schedule.
