Shout of to the Step Mothers!

As a step mother myself and not yet lucky enough to have another with my partner I feel that step moms sometimes don't get any appreciation for what they do in a child's life. I understand that my step daughter has a mother but that doesn't mean I don't play just as important of a role in the child's life. I am the one up every morning to take her to school at 7am, I have stayed home when she's sick, I've held her when she had nightmares at our house, and I've been there when she had school performances. I just feel that times like around Mother's Day there is no acknowledgment whatsoever to those of us who maybe didn't give birth to a child but still show them unconditional love and support.
