Do you think women who have a dog (no kids) should celebrate Mother's Day as if they are a mother?

Now idk if all the recent Mother's Day posts have been made by American/Australian/Canadian users, but I'm making that assumption based on the fact that those are the nations who's Mother's Day was most recent.

But anyways, why do you guys take the appreciation holiday so seriously? I've personally never seen people from the UK put this much time into criticising/analysing who can/can't celebrate the holiday.

Is Mother's Day a huge deal in the countries I previously specified? I'm just wondering how it can generate so much controversy 😂

I wouldn't, but you don't know her struggle. What if she's unable to have children? What if she has a rainbow baby that you don't know about?

Mother's Day is a day to celebrate the maternal side that all women have, not bring down other women because you don't feel like they're as ~motherly~ as you. Why does their happiness and celebration have anything to do with yours? Have a great day and keep scrolling if it bothers you.

Mother's Day itself is nothing but a Hallmark holiday. We should appreciate those who raised us, cared for us, etc. on a regular basis and not just because the card aisle tells us to.

My SO got my a card from our cat for Mother's Day.

How someone else celebrates something has no impact on you so mind your own business.

I love my animals. They are my fur kids. I would probably die for them. But I don't think it's comparable to having children. I didn't celebrate Mother's Day until this year because I have a son now. Other people can celebrate how they choose, whatever makes them happy is great. I understand how it could be cathartic for those who suffer from infertility or loss. But I, personally, would not celebrate Mother's Day for having pets.

I think appreciating your mother is good but Mother's Day is too much of a big deal to some people. Yes it's a special day but if you want to appreciate your mom, it should be everyday....
