Combining first bday party?

Question

Would you be okay with combining your baby's first bday party with 2-3 other cousins bdays? (One other cousin's bday is two days after LO, the other two are over a month prior). Also the others are turning 5 and 8 (LO is the only one turning one.)

It's your choice, but your baby only has one first birthday party. There will be plenty more opportunities to combine parties.

I would, my cousin's son was born 2 days before my son. We both live out of state and would have to travel anyway lol. Our entire extended family combines birthdays once a month. I don't know if I've ever had my own party! I don't see why it wouldn't be special if it was combined because the pictures, smash cake, and decorations are still special! But that's just me, I mean my kid isn't going to remember it anyway, it's really for the parents (in my opinion). I think if you don't want to, just don't do it. Plenty of people don't. We'll probably have a bbq.

I think it's so funny that people take 1st birthdays so seriously when the baby has NO CLUE wth is going on, lol! I made this mistake with our 1st. I'm 4 kids deep and we do simple 1st birthdays now that are mainly just fun with cake for them. Oh, and AT HOME. So anyway, to answer your question I see nothing wrong with it. It will probably be more fun and entertaining for LO to be around other small children that actually know what is going on.
