am I in the wrong for keeping my boss updated?
Okay I'm currently 35 weeks and 2days but being induced June 13th, i told my boss (the general manager) the other day I've been having some problems (just found out today I'm being induced) and just decided to give him an heads up.
I can't control what my doctors do and I can't control the baby coming and he really got upset and started talking loud saying he'll take me off the schedule and this week will be my last week, I told him I really don't want him to do that because I really need my last 3 paychecks before I go, that's when he started saying he matters and wendys come first (which I do understand). I feel like he's not right, I'm taking my maternity leave June 2nd and I decided to tell him what's going on so it won't be unexpected. I thought he'd be more understanding but I guess not, he doesn't give me breaks anymore or anything so my ankles would be really swollen, and when he leaves the next shift manager David has a problem giving me an break. The only manager who's okay with me leaving if I don't feel good or he just knows I'm tired is john.
I'll be 19 this year and this was my first job and I've been doing a lot for them which includes coming in on days off, staying for 2 shifts (12 hours+), and not feeling good but still manage to come in because the general manager would have a problem if I call out even though I only tried to call out twice .... i got sick at work (vomiting) and I tried to leave but he wouldn't let me, it's like he threatens to let me go and I'm getting tired of it but I can't leave because I have a car note to pay and ect ....
I feel like he could be an more understanding boss ...
I feel like I was right about keeping him posted about everything going on so it won't be unexpected..
