Do you think its okay to post pictures/videos of human corpses on social media?

The past few days I saw two posts about two separate incidents. The first post showed a video showing the corpse of a two year old girl who was beaten to death by her parents. At first I just thought it was a video showing her injuries until I looked at the wording of the caption and the comments and saw that this little girl was in a body bag.
The second post I didn't really look at because I knew straight away that the video wpuld show a dead body from the caption. The only thing I saw was someone with a camera walking up to the body bag.
I think it's sick and it isn't right to show that on social media. Its not something that I feel is appropriate. These videos also looked to me like they were done by a professional within the criminal justice system which sickens me more. I dont know much other than the videos are up and out there and getting shared all over. I don't know how they came into existence or how they ended up online.

Depends on what. I follow a medical examiner on instagram and she posts pictures for educational purposes, and that is interesting. But other than that, no.

I think it's unnessary and rude. News is news but they can report incidents without disrespecting the deceased and their family. I've had people share videos of people being murdered on my feed. I get some people are into the gore, but you don't need to go into social media and share it and pass it along. There's specific sites for that.

I also saw the video of the dead girl. It was disturbing/disgusting. I'd rather not see that in my newsfeed. Have some respect for the deceased...especially children. :(

I think yes, sometimes it's good to shock people with the reality of what's happening in the world instead of them being blind and ignoring it.
For instance, that girl.. People say oh that's sad, but when you show them the child it hits them a lot more personally and makes them think

I follow several EMT or medical student pages and they will post gory pictures for the purpose of education. For example, the EMT page might post a pic and then you discuss in the comments how you would transport and try to stabilize that person.

I also follow autopsy pages. They post pictures of dead bodies that have various things wrong with them and they tell you about the condition. What it does/where it comes from/how it's treated while also showing you what it looks like inside the body.

So yes - I think they should absolutely be allowed. It also depends on the context though/why it is being posted.

I don't think it's ok to post pictures of gruesome bodies online but my son was stillborn and I posted pictures of us holding his "corpse" in the hospital and one after the funeral home dressed him up.  They were tasteful and it was not obvious in the pictures that he was deceased.

Ugh this happened to me the other day. Some idiot shared this link on my Facebook that warned women of Brazil to be on the lookout for kidnappers. Thought it was an article so I clicked it and then I was watching a video of a woman in the woods and then she's murdered with hard objects to her head. Ruined my day, reported it. It's disrespectful to that women to have her death/murder being spread on social media for amusement basically. Then shorty after there's another article about a girl in Canada who was beaten to death by a group of girls. Should of known, the moment I clicked it it's a video of her death. It's insensitive and I hate the people that share that crap.

I personally have no problem with it. It shouldn't be posted for entertainment, but for educational purposes, for sure. I plan on going to school for mortuary and funeral directing actually.

I mean women on this app post some pretty disgusting things and I'd rather see a dead body than some of the things some women post on here.
