is this name too out there

So all along we have had Reign picked as a middle name. But never ever been able to pick a first name. None that we just loved to death. Well my husband suggested Reign as a first name because we both do love it. I really like it. But it's definitely out there and I read a lot of nasty thoughts about the name online. And I already tried to suggest spelling it different like rayne. But hubby is very stubborn and has made naming our daughter a nightmare. So I just want to know do you think it's way too out there and if not what would you do as a middle name?
