Hormones and Cycle

Ok, so I have never had a normal menstrual cycle. I have been keepin track for the last 3 years and there is no consistency. However, I have noticed over the last year that my period has been starting whenever I was with my (long-distance) boyfriend and would last until he was gone, no matter how long it would be (1 week-2 months). If we are apart, I never get my period. Has anyone else ever experienced this?? I'm starting to think my body just really hates me
