gas, discharge, morning sickness and 1st trimester nerves

Can we take a moment to say gratitude is one emotion that guides us through the first trimester, but in addition fear, anxiety, discomfort and a strange alien feeling toward our own bodies yank us through these 13.. I mean 14 weeks? 13 or 14, which is it?! Where is the finish line??? I am sure you have all heard "enjoy this precious time" or "it's the miracle of life." As I have, and I appreciate these pieces of wisdom. But I'm 6-8 weeks in (unsure because of LMP vs early ultrasound measure) waiting for my heart beat appointment on Thursday, and just want to add trimester 1 is  a wild ride..
