what size diapers should I buy and how many?

Question

When a baby is born, what size should I buy?

There's newborn and than there's size one right?

Should I buy two packs of the newborn and two of size one?

I guess my main question is, how fast will the baby grow?

That way I know how many packs of diapers I should buy.

Ps. What diaper do you recommend for newborns?

Our boy was only 6lbs2oz at birth and he's been in NB and is juat now getting close to outgrowing to go into 1 at 5 weeks but is still in the NB. But I wouldn't stick a ton bc you may find a certain brand doesn't work for you. Like I bought a bunch of huggies bc they were on sale and had coupons and now that I use them I'll never buy huggies again and have a bunch to return and exchange for pampers. That's the only advice I have for you.

It really depends on the baby. My son was full term but was only 6lbs 7oz and 18 3/4in long when born. Most newborn clothing was too small for him for a good month or two and newborn diapers fit him for 2 or 3 months. Most newborns go through quite a few diaper changes a day (about 8-10). But other babies are too big for newborn diapers at birth. It's better to have them and not need them than not have them and need them.

My boy was 7lns 2oz 
He is now three months old and this is how he has gone through diapers that only one box of everything up until size 3 right now. And I've had leftover size one left over their newborns left over size 2

Since,  you don't know the size of your baby at birth only buy one package of newborn and then 2 cases of 1, 3 cases of two.  The cases get smaller in number as the size goes up.

I'd stock up a few boxes of each. You'll be able to exchange for bigger sizes if there are leftovers. I love Pampers and Luvs

I put the reusable diapers on my baby registry. They grow with the baby and fit from Newborn to toddler. If you can invest a little now, it'll go a long way and can be used for subsequent children. To forgo the toilet washer then, we are getting these rolls of 200 disposable liners ($10 a roll) so that when there is solid waste it can just be tossed and the diaper put in the wash.

Most babies are different. Mine is long and thin so he was in newborns for several weeks. 
My sister however had hers in size one after a few days... He was huge. 
So get whichever, as long as the boxes stay closed you should be able to exchange.
