anyone had an hsg test done?

It's still a little too early too take a pregnancy test from my first round of clomid, so my ob suggested i have an hsg & a semen analysis for my husband. What should i expect for this test? Is it painful?

I had one done last year and it wasn't painful for me, but it may have been the Xanax and 3 excedrine I took😉 Anyway, I just posted an article on the HSG and the success rate of pregnancy after the procedure is done. I had one done thankfully no blockage hope that will be the case for you 🙏🏽 but it wasn't painful at all just some discomfort. The worst part was the dye being inserted had a burning sensation but not too bad. And little bit of cramping. Just try to relax and take some ibuprofen an hour before the exam.

If you have blockage in your tubes, it will be quite uncomfortable for most women. They say you can take ibuprofen prior to the procedure, so I would definitely suggest that. The procedure was quick (5-10mins) and I had the catheter fall out the first time when I moved up the table for imaging. So be careful when scooting up the table! I just made sure to keep breathing and gripped the table. They were the worst "period like" cramps. BUT that was for me, others say it was like nothing. Depends person to person, but the major benefit besides them clearing your tubes is that you get results right there from the doctor. Good luck!
