Please help

For the past week I had heavy cramping with discharge that ranged from brown to completely bloody, but that stopped yesterday. Now today I have no cramping but a lot of just blood (no discharge). This has never happened to me before. Also, last month, I missed my period. Could this just be a really long, painful period because of build up from the period that I missed? Please respond, anything helps.
