Breastfeeding and pumping

I am having oral surgery(they are putting me under) and my doctor said I can't breastfeed for at least 24 hrs after. So I plan to pump and freeze some for then and also for during the surgery while my mom has my son. I'm feeding on demand and am not sure when or even how to go about pumping between feedings. Any advice?
