Anyone have experience with dogs and newborns?

Chelsea
My dog has had a couple of bad experiences with kids, such as some pushing on his back to sit and pulling his leash, etc. Of course this behavior was stopped right away, but because of it he has quite an aversion to kids. He hasn't bit anyone or even growled at them, but he would a couple times try to nip at their shirt or something the same way he does to us. He's a rough player and we try to stop it because he's just always been a mouthy pup. I love him so much and he's this tiny gentle dog. Never vicious. I realize this can change at any moment and no matter how gentle the dog, they are capable of acting out in two seconds. But I could never imagine euthanizing my dog for anything.  I realize how dangerous potential situations with kids can be. Does anyone have any tips? I'm terrified for when our newborn comes home in a week or so. I realize we have more time to make sure there is appropriate and proper interaction between the two of them. I just think he's scared of kids now and that's more the issue rather than a dominance issue.
