1 month old constipated?

My daughter sounds like she's having a hard time going poo. She still can go, it just seems like she's fussing more while she goes. Is there anything I can do to help? I've tried the tummy massage but I think it hurts her cause she squirms so I stop.

Try moving her legs up to her chest when she starts grunting then put them back down. Do this till she stops grunting and pushing. This is how o have to get gas out of my son. It's awful and she's going to scream and cry at first but once it's out she will feel so much better. It's like sticking your butt up in the air it helps release gas. My son has blown out diapers doing this.

We had to change formulas and my little one has been constipated. Our ped told us told us to do 1 tsp white Karo syrup with 1 oz water twice a day. This hasn't too much worked for us, but may work for you. Also, if she needs immediate relief give her a children's glycerine suppository. Break off about half of it, stick it in, and hold her cheeks together for 30 seconds. Quickly put the diaper back, because it's coming.
