What is prohibited during Ramadan

This is my first Ramadan and i want to do it right inshaAllah are there any do's or donts while fasting?

Sometimes I think it's so beautiful to learn Islam and accept it out of will and interest. I find it so nice that you ask and implement these things. We who are born Muslims sometimes tend to take things easily and never realise how we are accountable for all our activities in this world.

Answer

During fasting, you're not allowed to:
Have intercourse (or anything that causes you to not be able to stop yourself from leading to it)

Smoke
Gossip
Lie
Intentionally vomit
Take medicine
Intentionally eat or drink

Of course, to fast you should be free from menstruation and have cleaned from intercourse.

These rules apply from dawn to sunset but some of the things are basic Islamic rules which should always be observed. There are additional things that differ based on scholar opinion.
