Schedule c-section on due date?

I'm currently breech.. but im reading alot about doctors scheduling breech baby c-sections a week before due date... is it possible to schedule the c-section on his due date to give him more cook time? Or maybe a few days after his due date?

I think the thought behind scheduling a breech baby for a c section earlier than the due date is specifically so they dont come on their own. True breech babies can be at risk for certain complications during delivery.

You can certainly tell them that you'd like to try to go into labor and then arrive for your c section to give baby time to finish developing. The risk is that if your cervix dilates and your water breaks the umbilical cord can become compressed. Research thoroughly and have a real talk with your ob

My first baby was breeched. Have you tried having them turn the baby? Talk to your doc to see how long you can wait. I was told we could wait until my due date and see if baby flipped or flip her when I was in labor. I was young and impatient that I thought it was best to just have a c-section. If I redue it I would wait and see if she would flip or try flipping her during labor. Best of luck.

I had severe cholastasis, baby was breech, severe hyperemesis and chrohns disease flared up and held out to 39+2 when i needed a emergency csection due to cholastasis rapidly becoming unwell and i had pre eclampsia bording eclampsia. Its perfectly possible but what they will say is the minute you get pain or waters break to go imediately to hospital or they might keep you in incase you go into labour. Its possible to have a breech vaginal delivery just holds alot of complications.
