Nipple soreness!!?? Only one...

So, for about 3 weeks, my left nipple has been so sore that it hurts for even my shirts to rub on it or if I gently touch it. My right one does not hurt and I'm worried there could be something wrong? Any opinions or has anyone else gone through this. I'm not pregnant.
