Hello! I've always had severe insomnia and I just refuse to take the heavy duty, prescription stuff to sleep. Typically things like Unisom (active ingredient diphenhydramine) do not help me sleep, but my friend (who is also pregnant) said her doctor told her it was safe to take while pregnant. I'm about 6-7 weeks pregnant with my first and I have my first ultrasound appointment on 3/18/15. Needless to say, my insomnia has been out of control since I found out I was pregnant. Has anyone taken Unisom almost every night during their pregnancy to sleep? I plan on asking my doctor, but in the meantime, I don't want to do any harm to my unborn baby! Any thoughts or suggestions would be so appreciated! Thanks!
