Camping when pregnant. Bad idea?

I'll be 20 weeks by the time my hubby, 9y/o, our dog, and 4 other friends go camping. I'm not a rookie. But I'm also used to being more active and doing more strenuous activities when I camp. Anyone gone camping during their pregnancy? Was there a specific item that made your trip more bearable?

🙋🏻 I did! We took a few-days' babymoon to the Channel Islands, which is all backpacking tent camping, when I was 24 weeks! I did find sleeping on a ground-pad more uncomfortable and of course I had to make a million pee-stops along our hikes, but otherwise felt great and I was really glad we got out for one more camping trip before I started to get big. I say go for it!

Definitely have something soft to sleep on. We went when I was 25 weeks and I slept on the ground with my body pillow for my belly and legs.... The next morning I felt like I'd been hit by a bus.. so definitely have a plan for what you will sleep on.

Just make sure you have a comfy spot to sleep and have fun!!!!!!

I wish I had advice to give, but I would have loved if we could've gone camping in my second trimester!!! (It was way too cold) the only thing I would recommend would be lots of sleep support (like an air mattress or cot if you're tent camping) to protect your back. But I would definitely go if I were you, have fun!!!
