how has being a mom changed you?

I'm a few weeks away from giving birth and honestly I'm not looking forward to being a mother. Like at all. I never really wanted kids but said one day when I'm married I'd love to have a baby and raise the child in a 2 parent household but I do not have the dream family like I was promised when I decided to keep this pregnancy, don't even speak to her father and have been doing this alone. I'm just looking for testimonials or advice of people's lives becoming better once they had their 1st child or falling in love with their baby at 1st sight.

It's normal to mourn your old life. Being a mom is such a big step and responsibility. Being completely honest, you may not feel that connection right away: some mom's it takes a while. One thing I would recommend doing is chatting with your doctor about how your feeling now and they can help you make a plan. Post partum depression sneaks up on you and if you have doubts going in, it may come to light more. You just have to remember that this little baby will be one of the best things that will come into your life. It may take some time to grieve your old life and that is perfectly okay. I'm sorry you're going through a tough time. When your child is born, you'll feel like it's all worth it. It's an indescribable feeling but there's nothing greater than the love a mother has for her child!

I was with the dad when I had my son, but I'm now raising him alone and pregnant with a little girl. Being a single mom is challenging, but the amount of joy your child will bring you makes it all worth it. It may not hit you right away (having a child takes some adjusting), but during that first year you build a bond with your child that I can't even describe to you. My priorities are different now. My son is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

I didn't think I want wanted to be a mother. Unexpectedly pregnant at 21 and was terrified. I did realize I wanted my baby at some point during pregnancy and already loved her before she was born. It truly was love at first sight. You realize at some point that this little person relies on you and trusts you for everything. You realize your enough for yourself and also that person as well and you just make it happen. Best wishes to you

I am one of those women that DID NOT instantaneously fall in love with her LO directly after birth. However, my daughter is my world. Yes, it is hard because I had decided that I did not want kids anymore (personal reasons/long story); but somewhere while being pregnant and feeling the kicks, seeing the ultrasounds to now watching my tiny little person develop a personality I cannot imagine my life without her and nor do I want to. I do know everything I do will be for and in her/our best interest in life. 
Right now I am trying to figure out when/how I am going to get my rhythm back for college while working full-time.

You will find yourself as a mother and as an individual (again), your child will bring more joy and love to your heart than you can possibly imagine. Don't focus on the loss of your "old life" start focusing on how to stay mentally strong and emotionally tough.

With each passing day I can honestly say my daughter is the best of me and I wouldn't change any of the events that have happened to me if it meant I didn't have have her.

When I pregnant I hated being pregnant and didn't really like little babies only the kids that can walk TALK and poop on their own lol and honestly when the baby came I wasn't even mad about waking up three times a night to feed her or change her I love it so much being a mom is all I care about now and I was a party girl ! Hated responsibilities now I'm a superhero lol

First off what you are feeling is 100% okay. Being anxious and like the previous woman said "mourning your old life" is normal.... my son changed my life SO much for the better it's crazy. I was with his biological sperm donor until I was 20w along. Kicked him out for smoking pot on my couch while I was working a full time job and going to school full time. He was mentally and emotionally abusive. Best thing I have ever done. I than met my now husband at 36 weeks. We have raised our son together. Honestly I never missed going out with friends & drinking. I was breast feeding my sweet baby, taking care of the house & my husband. I am pregnant with my second and I can say I have never been happier in my life. Being a mother has brought me 1000000% purpose. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
