8 month regression/leap?

Question

Something is going on with my son.... he will be 8 months next week. He is waking multiple times a night crying, but will put himself back to sleep in a few minutes. He is waking at 5 am and not going back to sleep :(.  His naps are also horrible. 
 
We brought him to the dr to check his ears and they are clear.

This is day 4. I'm hoping this only lasts a week or 2. Anyone else in the same boat yet?

My daughter is doing the same thing. 8months old next week. She started doing this about 9days ago. And while it's gotten a bit better she still does it every night.

Yup, they are going through a big leap right now. Same problem. And it takes forever for them to go back to sleep. I just let him play and fuss a little and figure it out because nursing and patting his butt which usually works - isn't working.

8 month regression because the 4 month wasn't bad enough

Same thing happened to me about a week ago she was getting up around 4 or 5 a.m. and she would just be up playing babbling not going back to sleep so I started putting her to sleep later around 9 or 9:30 and she's been sleeping through the night.
