baby ultrasound

I'm just wondering how many ultrasounds do you usually get? I'm 35 weeks pregnant and i only had two ultrasounds so far. One at the beginning of the pregnancy and the second sometime in the second trimester and that is it! We have regular visits to the dr but she doesn't do ultrasounds anymore. Sometimes i feel like we aren't checking the baby!  I'm anxious! I just wanna know if he's in the right position, is he gaining enough weight ? They don't really give you these information. I'm not sure if i should ask for one on my next appointment. But I don't feel like i get enough information about the baby's growth.they just take my weight and blood pressure, my urine sample and listen to the heart beat. Last time my belly was measuring small for the 34 weeks so I'm kind of curious to check on the baby's growth! Do any of you get more ultrasounds?
