3 1/2 month and stranger anxiety!

My daughter is 3 and half months old and it's very new thing where if she is held by anyone other than me or her dad she starts crying and the cry is extreme nothings consoles her. We live alone and very far from anyone we know. We barely see anyone from our families so I know that plays apart but how do I stop the screams. It breaks my heart that she is that scared, it makes me not want to leave with her to see anyone. On top it doesn't help members make sly comments that she is growing up alone etc. please give me any ideas.
