If you had to turn to cannibalism to survive, would you?
I was reading up about Alexander Pearce, an Irish convict who escaped from prison in Tasmania (then called Van Diemen's Land) multiple times in the 1800s.
During his first escape, he left with seven other convicts, and was the only survivor. They had no food at all, so to survive, he killed them all and ate them.
