Working full time and going to school

Has anyone done this? I mean going to school part time only. I don't live at home anymore because it's not a good environment for me. I'm dying to get back in school and make a better living for myself... I'm just really nervous about it. I work 4 days a week, but usually they are ten or eleven hour days, so I get 40 hours in. I just really don't know how to go about doing this. If I do this, I'll be doing it at community college. My parents are telling me I should only take one prerequisite at a time because it's going to be a bitch going to school and working. I was like yeah well, if it were easy... everyone would do it.
