tdap vaccine? breast feeding?

So I was just told about the tdap from my dr.. I'm almost 36 weeks is it late for her to be telling me now? Read baby needs 6 weeks for immunity? When do they get the tdap as well? If I wait till delivery, will he has immunity through breast feeding? Sorry soon to be FTM and have yet to get tdap.

I'm a bit surprised you haven't had it yet. I would get it asap so you can start passing on immunity immediately. Your baby will benefit now as well as through breastfeeding but I don't know if it's as potent as what they receive in the womb  (that's actually the main benefit of breastfeeding. The one thing formula cannot replicate is antibodies that babies receive thru breast milk). Your baby cannot get their own vaccination until 2 months.  Don't stress, better late than never.

Yeah they usually do it at or around 32-34 weeks 
I'd still recomend getting it and not wait till baby is born

Most of the benefit comes from the vaccination of you and any other child or adult who has contact with your infant to prevent you or them from contracting the disease and passing it to the baby before the baby can be vaccinated. Even if you get it after birth it is beneficial!

Guess 36 weeks is within range . I think I got mine around 32 . Just weird the Dr. never recommend it to you or mentioned it I should say :/
