Pissed off rant alert!!!

My friend's wife had her baby boy a few months ago. It was her 1st and only baby she's having. They went to the birthing center that I'll be having my baby at (my 3rd). I haven't really seen or spoken to either of them in a while. Out of the blue I got sent a message telling me that I should seriously reconsider where I'm having my child. Apparently when she went into labor she was in labor for a very very very long time. They got mad when she was told that doing this without any type of epidural or drugs was going to be too hard, and they wouldn't give her any morphine, fentanyl, ect...

It was told to them over and over that this was a natural birthing center. Water birth, showers, Aroma therapy, exercise balls, etc was all they have to offer.

I guess they just assumed that if it got too hard they would whip out an epidural machine or something.... No. That's not how it works.

And that was drilled into them from day 1.

The birthing center does offer nitros oxide as a last ditch effort help....but apparently she's allergic to that.

She ended up being transferred to the hospital to get an epidural via ambulance.

It just Infuriates me. Don't insult the birthing center because you did not absorb how hard core this was going to be. Natural means natural. Not "natural until you had enough, then A magical anesthesiologist appears out of a genie bottle."

My 2nd daughter was born in a hospital but the epidural did not take and I had her naturally. so I know I can do this. which is why I want to do it this way. it's my final child and I want my way.

My suggestion is that if you want to try to do this naturally; do it in a hospital. that way if you absolutely can not take the pain, you have more options.
