birth control and sex

So I've been talking with a guy for some time. And we finally did it. It was so painful when he went deep. I mean he's big but I didn't expect it hurt. After having sex he asked what kind of birth control I was on. I told him I had the mirana(Which is inserted in the uterus)he said he felt it and that it was scratching him as he went deep. But he also said that it didn't both him. Between the size of his penis(9inch) and the birth control it was painful But I'm not sure if I should change birth control or just let it be.
