posterior position ?

Can someone help with more info on Posterior position? Need more info and labor experiences ... I'm 36weeks 6 days  pregnant . Just had dr visit today's

My daughter was posterior when I was in labor and we had to try and turn her before I pushed. It was difficult to do, but luckily she turned. The nurses told me that it would have been a lot hard to push if she was posterior.
