could long distance relationships work?? help!!

So I met a guy from Detroit at a party in Toronto ( I live in Toronto) last sat and we hit it off. We've been texting constantly and we FaceTimed the whole night till the sun came up yesterday lol! He's really feeling me and he's been asking me questions like if I'm loyal etc... I'm nervous about it because a lot of ppl say it's hard and it doesn't work, but I've never met a guy like this and I'm feeling so heartbroken and alone with the guys and girls around me I just what something good :( ... Apparently it's a 4 hour drive but what should I do? Should I just left it alone or is there a slight chance ?

I've been in a ldr for a little over two years now and it's really hard! but in my opinion, really worth it. if you like him, go for it. even though seeing other couples will suck ass sometimes, it feels so special when you get to see them and be affectionate in person! it just takes effort and commitment.

I've been in a ldr for over a year now. (4/1/16) and it's been pretty good. Lately we've had... We've had some struggling..... 😭 Which is ok........ TBH I'm kinda sad now that I think about it.... It's a personal thing between us.

An ldr can be very wonderful. The pain of being so far away tears me apart at times, but it makes the relationship stronger because you both want to be together more. Also your relationship isn't based on physical touch. Me and him have never had much issues with trust, mostly because we don't do much but stay inside and talk to each other in all our free time every single day. He lives in California and is 18, I live in Washington and am 16. I haven't met him yet and hope to finally him this Summer.

Just be open and honest. Don't brike me and cause problems because you're nervous to say something. He told.me over and over to just a say what I needed to, and only recently have I started being more open. It's all about communication and finding time and ways to have fun.

Me and him plan on getting married when I turn 18. Hopefully our relationship can get through it.

Long distance can work. My boyfriend and I  go to different universities now so we're across the country from each other generally (currently he's on work terms for his program so he's only a 5hr drive away). It's hard for sure. You need a lot of trust and really good communication (better than in a 'normal' relationship really). My boyfriend and I see each other about every 4-6 months (now that he's closer we're trying for 1-2 times a month but we're both really busy and don't get a lot of time off). Saying goodbye is brutal- I fall apart every single time and the next week or so is really hard. But he's worth all this.

I really think the reason my boyfriend and I manage the distance is because we have a great foundation already. It holds us through the rough stuff because we know that we won't be LDR forever and that when we're together things are amazing. We already have trust, communication, respect and love that we built when we both went to the same university where me started dating. I'm not going to say it won't work with this guy for you- because people do make distance work without already having a foundation. I personally couldn't handle that because I think getting to know that person is really hard when you're not with them in the really stages. But there's nothing wrong with giving it a chance because it could work out!

I live in mass and I use to date a kid in conneticut. He was in the Navy , we made it work he'd come spend the weekend with me not every weekend tho and sometimes I'd be at foxwoods with my family and he'd come there and see me. It's tough but we made it work. But I was a mess when the weekends were over and he had to go back to CT.  So just prepare yourself
