Feeling strange

Well this morning my boyfriend brothers friend came to the door looking for the brother. Come to find out while talking for a while told me that his friends, girlfriend died from a drug over dose. Oh top of that she is a mom. I tried giving her advice on keeping clean for her baby but she never listened. I'm just, not sure if it's true or not. Idk what to do.
