castor oil?

Anyone used castor oil to bring on labor?

DON'T DO THIS EVER!! Castor oil is used as a laxative and can not only give you diahrrea and no contractions but it will also cause the baby to have a bowel movement inside and if the baby swallows its fecal material it will be extremely sick and possibly die!!! Never a good idea!! I never used it but when I had my second child my labor was so quick and intense that he had a bowel movement on the way out and they had to call the respiratory team in and try their best to suck it out of his nose and throat!! It was terrifying! If he hadn't been on his way out they never would have gotten it before it did damage! Please don't do this!!

Have you actually done any research on this? Laxatives are not to be taken during pregnancy. They are not to be taken to try to induce labor due to the risks to baby, including death and risks to mother.

My mom used it 32 years ago.  Bc apparently I didn't want to be born and I was nearing 10 lbs, lol

I tried it . Didn't work still pregnant lol due on Sunday no signs of anything .  I did not get diarrhea from it though , mild cramps and did have a normal bowel movement which I needed anyways but nothing more . I also didn't take a full dose  and mixed it and I ate normally could be why I never got  diarrhea. I would  suggest doing your own research on it, people are going to bash you for it on here but it's your body and your decision, I talked to my doctor about it first . If your body isn't ready nothing is going to work  though .

I tried it. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I didn't have a horrible reaction to it like some people do but there's a lot of controversy on it. Just do your research first before you make a decision whether you want to try it or not.
