Birth control options

I have a blood clotting disorder called Factor V Leiden. My blood clots more than it should. I am not on any medication to thin my blood and have my blood checked regularly. My gynecologist always told me my only option for birth control was condoms. I have a new gynecologist but do not go until next month. I was wondering if anyone has had any of the same issues with this blood disorder and birth control. I'm married but not ready to have children and I want to see if there are any other options besides condoms.
