When my dh proposed he said he also wanted a ring. So i got him a simple wedding band after he proposed. He ended up keeping it as his perminate wedding band. He wanted to show the world that he was engaged...taken and proud of it

My hubby is British and insisted that he buys me a ring. It's traditional to buy it, present it to the brides father whisky asked for her hand in marriage. As he insisted, I couldn't get rid of the image of "being bought" and present him with a watch of similar worth as an engagement gift. You know, to even it out.  😉

It depends on the man. My husband hates jewelry and wasn't thrilled about having a wedding ring so he would have never wanted an engagement ring. But if the guys is good with it and wants one why not make him feel special and give him something to show off too?

We did a mutal engagement. I'm not the type to be all about me it's about us so he engaged me and I engaged him 😆 couldn't be happier.
