Feeling unappreciated

My boyfriend lives in CA and I live in Florida. He's been struggling financially lately, so I thought I'd do something nice and have his favorite food delivered to his front door. I waited hours for him to call or text and let me know that he got it and...nothing. He didn't even acknowledge it at all until I asked and he said, "yes I did, message didn't send, thanks." I don't expect him to kiss my ass, but come on now. : (
