Please tell me if I'm being weird about this...

I'm due with our first baby on September 5th. A friend of mine wants to fly in and stay over the weekend of October 13... My husband will be away for work that weekend and I know my MIL wanted to help on some of those weekends so I told her, "that sounds fine! Just know I've never done this before so I'm not sure how fried I'll be with a newborn. Also, my mother in law is trying to come weekends that my husband is away to help out and I'm not sure which weekends she was thinking about, so she might be here."

Her response was, " well my only request is that I be the only one there so I don't have to share you. That's all I'm asking. So, if that's the case, you let me know her schedule and I'll plan a different day. I can help with the baby. So if you could reserve a weekend just for me that would be ideal."

I'm trying to be nice. She's gone through a lot in the last year (a divorce, an abortion), and it's kind of her to spend the money to stay with me for a weekend. But... I feel a little stunned by her response. So... Tell me if I'm being silly here!
