Do sunburns turn into a tan?

I'm white so I burn in the sun. And a few days later when my burn goes away I start to peel, and the spots that peeled are lighter than the parts that aren't peeled. So like did my tan peel away? Nobody ever told me how it works so I don't understand it lol don't laugh at me 🙉

It's because the "new skin" that comes after the burnt one peals wasn't exposed to the sun like the bits that didn't peal were. Just make sure you use the correct sunscreen. Having a deep tan isn't worth the risks at all. It's overrated x

If your white like really white you most likely won't tan from it. You will just burn like I do and never tan. If you want to tan trying using other methods such as spray tan or self tanners. Use sunscreen and Try not to burn as its bad for your skin and can cause cancer.

No. If you burn, your skin gets damaged and causes sun spots. You do not get "tan"after burning. I used to work at a tanning bed. Use sunscreen!

I don't tan, ever. With exercising outdoors every day, my arms are a "darker" shade of pale than the rest of me. When I burn, I go back to pale. Other people can tan, and others burn then tan. It just depends on genetics first, then diet & so on.

In my experience they do, but not too noticeable. When I get sunburn it's red then  the skin peals and then after it heals I can tell my skin has a different color than my skin that wasn't sunburned.
