Who do you prioritize first...?

This question constantly comes up. It's always the same answer.

I prioritize my marriage. We have three beautiful boys. It doesn't mean I love my kids less. It just means that I believe a strong marriage is the foundation of our family. After 10 years we are happier than ever. We are showing our kids what healthy love looks like. We gross them out daily and they often jump into our mushy embraces to join in. But we prioritize us. We take a date night once a night for just us. We talk every day and we touch constantly. We were together before our children and we want to be together after our children have grown. That means we need to focus on loving each other and growing together, not apart. We all change over time. If the focus isn't on growing together, the only other option is growing apart.

Answer

My children. No doubt about that. They are children. They need me. They didn't ask to be brought into this world, so why wouldn't I make sure they are taken care of first?
