A little late

Hello guys this is my first time posting but I need some advice. My significant other and I are trying to have our first baby. I'm 9 days late and I took a test 3 days ago and it came up negative. My period has been spot on for as long as I can remember no more than a day or two off. I made an appointment with my Doctor for 2 weeks from now. In your guys opinion what should I do?
