How do you know when the last day of your period is?

Answer

The first day of your cycle is the first day.of your period. The last day is the day before you start your next period.

The average cycle lasts 28 days, so typically you would ovulate in day 14.

If your cycle is any longer or shorter than that, the luteal phase (phase after your ovailtion) is typically  14 to 16 days. So you would know approximately when you ovulate only after you start your next cucle.

With that said, if you would like to know exactly when you ovulate, the best thing you can do is track your bbt, and maybe your cervical  fluid and position. A good book that will teach you everything you need to know is taking charge of your fertility by Toni weschler.
