how bad is labour?

Can someone please tell me in all honesty how much labour hurts and what hurts the most?

It's different for everyone. But when I went into labor the 4 previous times my contractions weren't unbearable tho I did opt for a epidural just because I don't like pain. Getting the placenta out was the worst pain for me only because the doctor pushes on your stomach to help get it all out and imagin that after a baby comes out. Then you still get contractions after so you're uterus can shrink back and that can be painful as well. But try not to think about pain think about how happy u will be to see your baby. The more relaxed you are the easier labor  will go. I think that's why my contractions weren't that bad. You will be ok your body was built for this and good luck.

Pushing hurt the most for me.  I had a tiny tear from it which hurt whenever I sat down for a few weeks.  I didn't feel unbearable pain until the transition phase.  By then it was too late for meds.

I got an epidural. So contractions hurt most. It's... weird to explain. It wasn't pain I had ever felt before. I wasn't screaming but I was moaning very loudly through them all until I got my epidural. If you have ever had the stomach flu, those stomach cramps are very similar to that. Once that epidural kicked in it was just veeeeeeery uncomfortable pressure when it was time to push. A lot like having to go #2, and all I wanted to do was make it stop. Right during the crowning time I wouldn't say it hurt per say, but it was not comfortable and I kinda gasped and groaned slightly once, but that was the only sound I made during the entire pushing process.
