Genetic Screenings?

I'm on the fence about all the optional screenings and tests for genetic disorders and birth defects. I honestly would rather not know ahead of time, especially knowing that some people get pressured to end a pregnancy over a known issue. That would never be an option to me. My husband, on the other hand, would rather know if there's an issue so we could prepare. I can see his side completely, but it still scares me since these tests can be invasive. He also wants to know his chances of being a carrier for disorders because he's an identical twin so we will know if we decide to be a surrogate for his brother. Did any of you also have on the fence feelings about this? What have you decided? Why?
