UK mums and check ups

How often do you get your baby checked and does anyone actively ask to see your baby? I know our health visitors are short staffed where we live but it seems to be a case of just contact us if you have a problem. Since her jabs she hasn't seen anyone unless I take her to a clinic to get weighed.
