is it bad?

Is it normal that my boyfriend is slightly more overprotective of me? I feel like ever since we lost our virginity to each other.. he's become more protective of me. I don't mean he's telling me what I can and cannot do, but he gets insanely worried about me. That could just mean he cares about me a lot, right? I'm just afraid because some people say that when he's overprotective.. it eventually becomes a problem? I don't think him wanting to make sure I get home safe, have fun with my friends, and make sure I'm okay are bad signs though..
