Job and Medicaid?
I've posted this question here before I believe but I'm still needing some help. My daughter has Medicaid and I do not. In my state (NE) you can stay on your parents insurance until you are 25 so long as you are in college, which I am. So, my daughter is on Medicaid and I am on my parents insurance which is CHAMP VA. I've been unemployed for some time now, I quit my job when I was about 30 weeks pregnant. I am full time in college, and get a GI bill, which means I get paid for college. Though, my parents control this money even though I'm an adult. I don't have a problem with all my money going to my daughter and her care, though I want a job where I would only work weekends so I can have money for personal things such as a down payment on my own home or a day at the zoo with my daughter and things like that. If I was to get a job would my daughter loose her Medicaid coverage? I do not like sitting here being virtually poor, because I have no control over the money I receive. I don't even know how much I get. My parents "warned" me that if I get a job, no matter how much I work, My daughter would loose all her coverage and then I would be working just to pay for her health coverage. I have the number for my Medicaid office but I'm worried to call because I don't want them thinking I'm trying to cheat the system. My daughters father is not involved and not on her birth certificate, and Medicaid has not once asked for his info. What are my options?
