mucus plug/discharge help

Sorry if this is tmi. But for the past couple days I've had this yellow discharge. I put a pad on and I noticed I have to change it every hour or two. Sometimes it's itchy. It has no odor. It's not watery but it's not thick either. My ob was able to fit me in today to get it checked out. But I'm just wondering if anyone has had this. The nurse made it sound like cervical changes aka mucus plug. But I'm a little convinced it's an infection. Thoughts? I'm 37 weeks 3 days
