Menstrual Cups

First time using a menstrual cup and I'm wondering if it's normal for it to shorten your period? My period normally lasts around 4-5 days, but my period was only for 2 days. I know it's my first time using it so not much to go on, but was just wondering if anyone has had anything similar happen?
