Too much compliments ?

Okay I know this might be a silly thing to be asking advice on.. but can someone give too many compliments while in a relationship?

So the guy I'm seeing is always complimenting me.. I just sometimes feel like it's too much sometimes.. I tell him that and he feels bad for complimenting me. 
I just don't know if this is just me being me from past relationships or too much is too much..

I am curious how often "always" is? 🤔 It might just be a personality thing. Are you generally uncomfortable with very much verbal affection? Or perhaps insecure (not a judgement, just wondering because sometimes insecurity can make it hard to take compliments)?
My husband compliments me often, like throughout the entire day. And he almost always refers to me in a complimentary way (like calling me "beautiful.") Personally, I love it. It is just one of the things that endears me to him. 
If I were you, I would try to embrace it. It is just his way of expressing what you mean to him, and if you fight against it, he may feel like you're rejecting him. And I doubt you want him to feel like he can't express himself to you. I am guessing "words of affirmation" could be his love language, and that may be why he finds verbally affirming how he feels about you so important and natural. It may just be a different way of expressing affection than you are used to. But that doesn't mean it's wrong.

I know this may sound like I'm jumping from way out of left field but tread lightly with this sort of behavior as you do not know him very well yet. Do not allow this sense of confidence he is builfing in you with compliments to overshadow any other parts of him that you may have viewed as a warning sign. Excessive complimenting can be a sign of Narcissistic Behavior and that is most definitely a relationship you would want to avoid. He could also just be really sweet or nervous/ackward because you are a lovely woman and one he wants to have know how much he likes her. Either way...tread lightly.
