sick... dr or not to dr?

So I'm starting to have a really bad cough, like a sick cough. Normally, I would just wait t out and not care and let my body fight it off without any drs. (I don't go unless I'm pretty much dying.) my question is, if I am sick, and it gets worse, should I go to the dr? I'll be 9 weeks tomorrow and this is the farthest I've ever been pregnant and I don't know what I'm suppose to do? My husband is nervous and wants me to go straight to the dr if I do get sick. What do y'all think?
